Banyana Banyana coach is in hot Waters'

Image
South African football fans are calling for the resignation of the coach of the national women's team, Banyana Banyana, after a disappointing performance at the ongoing Women's World Cup in France. Banyana Banyana lost their opening match 2-1 to Sweden despite a promising first half performance. They followed it up with a 2-2 draw with Argentina. The team's inability to defend goals and the seeming lack of tactical discipline has left supporters frustrated and calling for a change in leadership. Coach Desiree Ellis, who played for the national team herself during her playing days, was appointed in February 2018 and led the team to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in their history. However, her tactics and team selections have come under scrutiny especially in the loss to China where the team failed to mount any meaningful attack and appeared bereft of ideas going forward. South Africa's football governing body, SAFA, has however given

The late rapper Tupac Shakur's iconic crown ring is set to go up for auction and is expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000. Designed by the rapper himself, the ruby and diamond ring holds immense significance as it was worn by him during his last public appearance in 1996, just months before he was tragically killed. Tupac was a style icon in his own right and had a unique sense of fashion, and this ring was a trademark of his sense of style. The ring holds great sentimental value for fans of the rapper and the hip-hop community. It is a symbol of Tupac's legacy as one of the most influential artists of his generation. The ring has proven to be a popular collector's item for fans over the years. The ring is set to be auctioned off on November 14, with Julien's Auctions conducting the sale. Mental health issues are real

Image
Mental illness is a significant health problem in South Africa. According to the South African Depression and Anxiety Group, one in six South Africans suffer from anxiety, depression, or substance use disorders. This statistic is alarming, yet the issue of mental health is still regarded as a taboo topic, and many people are afraid to disclose their mental health challenges. The recent firing of Dineo Ranaka from Kaya FM for discussing her depression publicly has brought to the fore the question of whether South Africa has a space for individuals who suffer from mental illnesses. The decision by Kaya FM is a clear indication that mental health is still not taken seriously in many workplaces in the country, and disclosure of one's mental health challenges can lead to stigmatization and discrimination. The stigma around mental illness in South Africa is deeply rooted. In many cases, people who suffer from mental illnesses are viewed as weak, and the illness is often associated with w
